SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Firefighters battled a smoky backyard fire in the Colina del Sol area of San Diego early Wednesday.
The fire, located in the 4100 block of Winona Ave., was reported just before 6 a.m. Fire crews could be seen breaking through piles of debris in the property's backyard.
The fire began in a shed in the yard, according to SDFD spokeswoman Monica Munoz. By 6:30 a.m., the fire appeared to be doused and did not extend to the main residence or surrounding area.
It's not clear how the fire began. No injuries were reported. The blaze caused about $3,000 in damages.
