EL CAJON, Calif. – One driver had to be extricated by firefighters after a collision between two SUVs in El Cajon Friday morning.
The crash occurred at around 4 a.m. at the intersection of East Washington and South Lincoln avenues. The collision overturned an SUV onto its roof and left the driver trapped inside.
Heartland Fire & Rescue crews responded and pulled the driver out. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The driver of the other SUV was not hurt. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
The eastbound lanes of Washington Avenue were closed while emergency responders cleared the scene.
El Cajon police are investigating the cause of the crash.
