SAN DIEGO – Dry and windy conditions have prompted a Red Flag Warning for San Diego's mountains and deserts, and the warning is expected to take effect at 11 a.m. Friday and last through 8 p.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service said critical fire weather is expected, with wind gusts of 30-40 mph and the lowest humidity levels of 5-10 percent.
Forecasters said any fires that develop amid the dry, windy conditions would likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
