SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver was placed into custody after police say, after receiving a parking citation, he caused a Parking Enforcement officer's vehicle to overturn in La Jolla.

The incident happened just after 12 p.m. in the 800 block of Prospect Street, according to San Diego police.

Police told 10News a Parking Enforcement officer was ticketing a red Corvette for an unspecified parking violation, and after the driver discovered the citation, he got into his car and angrily drove away.

The Corvette somehow knocked over the officer's vehicle while he was inside. The officer was not seriously injured, however.

The driver, with his attorney, turned himself in a short distance from the site of the crash. Police took him into custody for questioning. His name has not been released.

Police did not immediately provide information on the Corvette.
