SAN MARCOS - The San Diego Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed robbery in San Marcos Friday afternoon.
Sheriff's Deputies reported the incident in the 200 block of San Marcos Blvd. just before 4 p.m. The department said police were at the scene of a Metro PCS location and would be for at least the next hour.

Deputies wouldn't confirm if the robbery was linked to a series of armed robberies of Metro PCS stores throughout San Diego.

San Diego Police said seven Metro PCS stores have been robbed since January throughout the county. Police believe the same suspects are behind those seven robberies.
