CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A South Bay resident is $1.5 million richer this week.

Chula Vista resident Alexander Olimpo claimed the prize from his winning Mega Millions ticket, in which he matched five of six numbers from the July 21 drawing.

Had he matched the Mega number, he would've won the $248 million jackpot. But $1,502,885 will have to do, right?

When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, Olimpo joked to lottery officials, "My wife has a lot of plans."

Olimpo purchased his "quick pick" ticket at the CVS Pharmacy at 380 East H Street (seen in the map below.)

Last week's $393 million Mega Millions jackpot was claimed in Illinois following Friday's drawing. The $356 million Powerball jackpot, however, is still up for grabs - now at $430 million.
