CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was seriously injured in the South Bay after a car crashed into his disabled vehicle, throwing his own car into him.
Chula Vista Police said the crash occurred just before 6 a.m. on Main Street near the southbound Interstate 805 off-ramp. The man was driving a Ford Mustang off I-805, when an Infiniti G35 traveling westbound on Main St. struck his vehicle, CVP said.
While the man's Mustang was disabled - and the Infiniti was pulled off the road - the man got out and began looking for his pertinent information, police said. While searching, a Honda CR-V traveling westbound on Main St. struck the man's Mustang, sending it into him.
The man sustained traumatic injuries to his head, police said, and was transported to a UCSD Medical Center.
CVP said the drivers involved in the crashes were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collisions.
Anyone with information regarding the collisions is asked to call the Chula Vista Police Department at 619-691-5151.
