LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. - A bear caused a stir in a La Canada Flintridge neighborhood Wednesday.
The animal emerged about 10 a.m. in the general area of the 4600 block of Palm Terrace Court, according to a lieutenant at the Los Angeles County sheriff's Crescenta Valley Station.
TV news footage showed the animal taking a brief dip in someone's swimming pool at one point.
By early afternoon the bear, which was tagged during a previous visit to a residential neighborhood, was asleep in a tree behind a home in the 5100 block of Jarvis Avenue as deputies and state Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel stood by, waiting to direct the creature back into the wild.
