Heavy-metal band As I Lay Dying is facing controversy after reuniting with Tim Lambesis, the band’s lead singer who pleaded guilty to hiring a hit man to kill his now ex-wife, according to music website NME.com.
Lambesis pleaded guilty in February of 2014 to a felony murder solicitation charge for paying an undercover agent, who was posing as a hitman, to murder his now ex-wife.
The singer was sentenced to a six-year prison term in 2014 but was paroled in 2016.
The band said little of letting Lambesis back into the band on their social media channels Monday, only releasing a short paragraph on Facebook and Twitter.
“It’s difficult to encapsulate all of the topics we want to address with a written statement. We understand there are many questions and we plan to address them this week," the band said on social media.
