VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A four-year-old boy struck by a vehicle as he was crossing a Vista roadway Friday has died.
San Diego Sheriff's Department said the boy was struck by a 2005 Honda CRV just after 10:30 a.m. in the 800 block of E. Bobier Drive. The boy was crossing the roadway mid-block when the vehicle hit him, SDSO said.
The driver of the Honda, identified as a 66-year-old female, remained at the scene.
Vince Muldrow lives nearby; he told 10News he heard “a loud bang, heard tires screeching, seconds later, I hear a woman yelling, 'No! No! No!' Really loud, top of her lungs."
Muldrow ran to the street.
"Saw the little boy down, his mother traumatized, in the middle of the street screaming. I ran for towels, a [sic] couple of bystanders were trying CPR on the little boy."

The boy was airlifted to Rady's Children's Hospital with serious injuries. He later died at the hospital.
His identity has not been revealed.
