THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KGTV) -- An earthquake shook the area around Thousand Palms Tuesday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.8 and hit eight miles northeast of Thousand Palms at 12:22 a.m.
At this time, there are no reports of damage or injuries.
