OAKLAND, Calif. -- The United States Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 has struck just outside of Oakland.
The earthquake struck at 7:18 p.m. just two miles outside of Oakland Monday. No damage or injuries are being reported.
The USGS originally reported that the earthquake was a 3.8 magnitude, then a 3.6. The quake was eventually downgraded to a 3.5.
