JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Julian area was shaken Friday night by a preliminary 3.1 magnitude earthquake.
The earthquake happened around 6:51 p.m. Friday night at a depth of 9.8 kilometers.
The earthquake comes after a series of earthquakes were reported near Julian Wednesday when residents were shaken by a 4.2 magnitude earthquake around 4:33 p.m.

Many residents in and around the town reported feeling the series of earthquakes Wednesday. "We certainly did feel quite a bit. Everything rattled and shook," said one employee at the Julian Gold Rush Hotel.
Following the initial earthquake Wednesday, several aftershocks were reported nearby.
