CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- The COVID pandemic and safety protocols won't keep Santa in the cold this holiday season as three San Diego-area retail centers have re-imagined the traditional visit with St. Nick.
The Otay Ranch Town Center and Chula Vista Center in the South Bay, and The Shoppes at Carlsbad in North County invite families to a personalized virtual visit with Santa.
The Jingle Ring experience includes a personalized storytime session with either Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus, keepsake photos, and a choice from various Santas. There is a fee for the experience, $24.95, but you can add multiple family members into the virtual experience.
A second feature being cobbled together by Santa's helpers is a personal message to families from St. Nick.
"Santa will record a video message to your kids based on information you provide in your family profile during your booking. Watch your children stare in amazement as they watch their very own video from Santa," Otay Ranch Town Center said on its website.
The price for the message service is unknown at this time.
Families can start booking online now for appointments starting Nov. 14.
