SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diegans can sit back and take in a handful of virtual concerts with some big names behind them this weekend.

The Roots, Melissa Etheridge, Jewel, and many more are participating in various performances online this weekend. San Diego musicians are also set to perform during #BANDTOGETHER to support musicians during the pandemic.

Anyone interested in picking up drawing skills can sit in on a comic book class online with Little Fish Comic Book studio. Check out their classes and put your superhero ideas to paper.

The Fleet Science Center, San Diego Zoo, and Children's Discovery Museum are all also running online programming, live and taped, for viewers of all ages throughout the weekend.

THURSDAY

Comic book classes online
Interested in learning how to create your own comic book? San Diego's Little Fish Comic Book Studio is moving its classes online during stay at home orders. Those interested can RSVP to sit in on a demo class and decide before committing whether they'd like to sign up for more classes.

Live podcast with The Roots
The Roots will take to their YouTube channel to offer live podcasts and performances Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 9 p.m. The band is also loading thier channel with videos featuring Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, and more.

FRIDAY

#BANDTOGETHER live stream concerts
The Same Same But Different Festival is going virtual, bringing music online in a virutal fundraiser for local musicians facing financial challenges during the pandemic. Concerts running online this weekend allow musicians to showcase their work and fans to show their support.

Billboard live concerts
Billboard Magazine will be livestreaming performances from musicians' homes, including Melissa Etheridge at 3 p.m. on April 10. The fundraiser shows will also see artists donating proceeds to a charity of their choice.

SATURDAY

Virtual storytime with Children's Discovery
San Diego's Children's Discovery Museum will host Facebook Live storytimes. Check out the museum's schedule of upcoming storytimes and gather the kids for a fun read!

Human to Human benefit livestream
Facebook is hosting a live concert with performances including Alec Bejanim, Andrew McMahon, Butch Walker, Grouplove, Hunter Hayes, Jensen McRae, Jewel, Nicolas Petricca (Walk The Moon), Sam Nelson Harris (X Ambassadors), Skylar Grey, Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit PLUS1's COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Experiments with Fleet Science Center
Fleet Science Center will answer viewer questions, conduct science experiments, share more scientific fun on its virtual platform FleetTV. Programming walks viewers through hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes interviews and more.

San Diego Zoo education and live streams
The San Diego Zoo provides access to several live cams of animals at the zoo for anyone with an internet connection to checkout. The zoo is also providing teachers and parents with online resources to keep kids busy and inform them about the wonders of animals and plant life.
