SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It may be sweltering this week in San Diego, but there's still plenty of cool fun outside to enjoy.
American Idol's traveling show comes to town, performing with talented finalists from the show at the Jacobs Music Center.
If you're heading to the beach to cool off, check out Oceanside where a massive three-day music and surf festival can be found at the Supergirl Surf Pro festival. More than 20 concerts, vendors, skate and surf competitions, and more will be featured.

Chula Vista will continue its summer movies in the park series this weekend with some galactic action, screening "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" at Montevalle Community Park. Santee also has some park fun, bringing "The Ultimate Stones" Rolling Stones tribute band to Town Center Community Park East for a free concert.

THURSDAY
Where: Jacobs Music Center; Cost: $35-$85
Fans of American Idol can catch a concert featuring talented finalists from the hit show, including Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Catie Turner, Gabby Barrett, Jurnee, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodard.
Where: Town Center Community Park East; Cost: Free
Santee's summer concerts continue this weekend, with music from The Ultimate Stones, a Rolling Stones tribute band. Rock out to great sounds while enjoying grub from food trucks. Kid's activities, including an inflatable obstacle course and lawn games, will also be available.
FRIDAY
Supergirl Surf Pro surfing competition
Where: 300 N. The Strand; Cost: Free
Head out to Oceanside Pier for the 3-day Supergirl surf and music festival. The free event features a village festival packed with more than 20 live concerts, vendors, and more. Plus, of course, surf and skate competitions throughout the weekend!
Movie in the Park: "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"
Where: Montevalle Recreation Center; Cost: Free
Enjoy a free movie at Chula Vista's Montevalle Community Park this Friday. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will be screened in addition to children's activities and a full snack bar available for families.
SATURDAY
Where: Imperial Beach Pier; Cost: Free
More surf action this weekend hits San Diego, with the Imperial Beach Surf Dog where more than 60 dogs are expected to take to the waves and hang 20! The family-friendly event is free to attend and proceeds benefit the San Diego Humane Society.
Where: Embarcadero Marina Park North; Cost: Free
Check out more than 300 vehicles spanning all sorts of makes and models, from pre-WWII classics to modern exotic rides, at the Embarcadero. Live music, food, and a big raffle will also be held!
SUNDAY
Live Well 5K and Kids 1-Mile Walk
Where: Waterfront Park; Cost: $35-$45
Support the San Diego Blood Bank at the Live Well 5K and 1-Mile walk. After running, stick around for family-friendly fun, face painting, a bounce house, live music, and more!
Phil's Big BBQ at the Ballpark
Where: Petco Park; Cost: $20-$60
Fill up on Phil's BBQ at the ballpark before Sunday's game at a special party benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters' Operation Bigs, a military mentoring program. The special tickets gets attendees access to food, a beer garden, live music, and a kids zone.
