SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - This weekend is packed with things to do for the entire family across San Diego County.
Of course, San Diego Comic-Con will return and take over downtown San Diego for a week of comic, movie, and pop culture fun.
If you're hoping to avoid that area, and enjoy some delicious food and drink, you might find some fun at the San Diego Pizza & Beer Festival in Liberty Station.
There's also plenty for families looking to take the kids out, whether it's the Insect and Ladybug Festival at the San Diego Botanic Garden or Open Cockpit Days at the Flying Leatherneck Museum.

THURSDAY
San Diego Comic-Con International
Where: San Diego Convention Center; Cost: Badge required, free options
(Thursday - Sunday) San Diego Comic-Con International returns to town, bringing celebrities, cosplayers, and pop culture fans to downtown San Diego for a week's worth of fun! If you don't have a pass, there's plenty to do outside around the convention center!
Rooftop Cinema Club: The Sandlot
Where: Manchester Grand Hyatt; Cost: $17 - $24
Grab some popcorn and enjoy the classic summertime film, "The Sandlot," overlooking the San Diego skyline. Make sure to enjoy the concession stand’s Ahi Poke Nachos, Fish Tacos, and Carne Asada Tacos and a cocktail!
FRIDAY
Where: Del Mar Racetrack; Cost: $6 - $30
(Thursday - Sunday) It's opening week at the Del Mar Racetrack! Racing season kicks off on Wednesday with opening day festivities and continues with performances by The Psychedelic Furs and Iration.
Point Loma Summer Concert series
Where: Point Loma Park; Cost: Free
Take in the sounds of Elton The Early Years Band as Point Loma's summer concert series begins this week at Point Loma Park.
SATURDAY
San Diego Pizza & Beer Festival
Where: Liberty Station; Cost: $35 - $50
More than 100 craft beer varieties from around the region and pizza from 15 restaurants will be on hand for the San Diego Pizza & Beer Festival. Live DJs will be turning out tunes at this event that benefits the San Diego Hunger Coalition.
Where: The Flying Leatherneck Museum; Cost: Free
Experience what it's like to be in the seat of a military plane during Open Cockpit Days. Sit in the cockpit and feel like a real pilot in these historical artifacts during this free event in Miramar.
SUNDAY
Where: Fiesta Island; Cost: Free for spectators
(Saturday - Sunday) Fiesta Island's OTL tournament continues with the final weekend of play. More than 1,200 teams hit the sand last weekend and we're now down to this year's best of the best. Head out for a fun day in the sun!
Where: San Diego Botanic Garden; Cost: Free - $18
Bring the kids out to this one-of-a-kind event featuring thousands of fascinating creepy-crawlies including live insects, lizards, snakes, and the famous "Madagascar hissing cockroaches." Kids can also practice bug collecting and even taste cooked mealworm larva (if their parents say so, of course.)
