SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It's the perfect weekend to get outside, soak in the summer sun, and jump into some fun in San Diego!

San Diego Pride kicks off with events Wednesday, though the big event happens Saturday with the San Diego Pride parade and festival. This year, TLC and JoJo are slated to perform.

Over-the-Line returns to Fiesta Island this weekend, with uh, colorfully named, teams facing off at the beach. Team sign-ups are closed but watching from the sidelines is free!

Families looking for some free summer fun are in luck as well, as Amazon's Treasure Truck is bringing a movie screening to Waterfront Park with popcorn, games, and giveaways.

THURSDAY

Bayside Summer Nights: Arturo Sandoval

Where: Embarcadero Marina Park South; Cost: $18 - $95

Legendary jazz artist Arturo Sandoval will bring his powerful and bright music during San Diego Symphony's Bayside Summer Nights concert series.

 

Hawaiian Christmas in July party

Where: Iron Pig Alehouse; Cost: Free

Halfway to Christmas is enough time to celebrate the big holiday! Iron Pig Alehouse in Pacific Beach is throwing a Christmas in July celebration with drink specials and an ugly Hawaiian shirt contest.

FRIDAY

KAABOO Battle of the Bands

Where: The Quartyard; Cost: $10

KAABOO Del Mar's Discovery Tour comes to The Quartyard, featuring performers Sweet Tooth, Sophia Dion, Desert Rhythm Project, and Lindsay White. The winner at each stop of the tour will perform at KAABOO later this summer!

 

Marlon Wayans

Where: American Comedy Co.; Cost: $40

(Thursday - Sunday) Comedian Marlon Wayans, who fans may instantly recognize from "The Wayans Bros." and "Scary Movie" films, is coming to town for a weekend of standup comedy.

SATURDAY

San Diego Pride

Where: Hillcrest; Cost: Free

(Thursday - Sunday) San Diego Pride weekend kicks off Friday with a block party but the biggest event comes Saturday, during the San Diego Pride parade and festival, which features TLC and JoJo this year!

 

"Through Our Eyes" drum and bugle show

Where: Valhalla High School; Cost: $10 - $25

More than 150 high school and college students will showcase their drum and bugle skills in "Through Our Eyes," this special performance depicting how those with special needs experience the world and the challenges that they face.

 

Isle of Dogs screening

Where: Waterfront Park; Cost: Free

Amazon's Treasure Truck continues its free summer movie series with a screening of "Isle of Dogs" at Waterfront Park. The truck is also coming with surprises, including giveaways, popcorn, and activities.

SUNDAY

65th Annual World Championship Over-the-Line Tournament

Where: Fiesta Island; Cost: Free to watch

(Saturday - Sunday) It's that time of the year. OTL is back for its championship tournament. While team signups have closed, head down and take in the beach fun with one of San Diego's long-running traditions.

 

PAWmicon

Where: Hazard Center; Cost: Free

Before Comic-Con takes over San Diego, PAWmicon brings out families for some superhero fun. The event will feature pet adoptions with the Helen Woodward Animal Center, music, games, giveaways, and pets in costume!
