SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - For San Diegans wanting to take a trip to the happiest place on earth, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is offering Disneyland ticket discounts for its train riders.

Through Sept. 3, Amtrak is giving a five percent discount for the park to those who book a trip or have booked a trip in the past through its service.

Disneyland one-day ticket prices vary per day. The least expensive Saturday tickets before Sept. 3 are on Aug. 18 and 25. For a one-day ticket on Aug. 18, here is the breakdown on ticket prices with the discount:

  • Ages 3-9 one park admission: $104.50 ($5.50 savings)

  • Ages 3-9 park hopper: $152 ($8 savings)

  • Ages 10+ one park admission: $111.15 ($5.85 savings)

  • Ages 10+ park hopper: $158.65 ($8.35 savings)

A Pacific Surfliner spokesperson said the promotion was motivated by Disney's Pixar Fest, which ends Sept. 3. The promotion follows a new partnership with Disney and is to encourage people to take Amtrak as a form of transportation.

Prices on trips from San Diego to Anaheim using Amtrak vary based on the day and time and the age of the rider.

In addition to the park discount, Amtrak is offering its regular 15 percent discount for seniors, students and riders with disabilities. One child, aged two through 12, can ride half price with an adult. Children ages two and younger ride for free.

Promotion codes:

  • Seniors (62+)-V282

  • Students (13-25)-V353

  • Riders with disabilities-V577

"Through this partnership, we hope to enhance the journey for those traveling to the Disneyland Resort theme park, while also providing added value to our existing Pacific Surfliner customers," said Bryan MacDonald, chairman of the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency.
