(KGTV) - Miss California contestants will vie for a spot at the Miss America competition Saturday.
Contestants from across California will represent cities up and down the coast, including Miss San Diego Marisa Butler.
The competition aims to promote a broader knowledge of the world, communication and interview skills, physical fitness, and gives competitors the opportunity to showcase their creative talents.
Miss San Diego placed in the top 15, but did not advance to the final seven.
