SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Thousands gathered downtown for day one of Comic-Con 2018, but Hall H wasn’t the only place drawing massive crowds.

Several offsites like the Nerdist House with its live shows, photo ops and virtual reality experience also created buzz.

But for those searching for an adventure at this year’s Comic-Con found one at the Tomb Raider Experience at Moonshine Flats. “This is just a place for people to come and just participate in a fully immersive experience,” said Jon Grant, who was working the experience Thursday.

The experience comes before the release of the “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” video game in September.

“In order for it to be a fully-immersive experience and for you to really feel what it’s like to become the Tomb Raider, you’re gonna have to face some challenges and face your fears. If you’re really gonna face your fears like the Tomb Raider, well, why not do it with a giant snake behind your back,” Grant said while describing some of the challenges the venue holds.

“We have a 17-foot anaconda. What says conquer your fears and conquer the jungle more than that?”

But that’s not all a day at the experience has to offer. Guests are also offered the chance to win some prizes.

“And in order for a chance to win a prize, you have to first eat something delicious like a scorpion or a water bug, worms stuff like that. So survive the jungle just like Lara Croft would.”
