SAN DIEGO -- Residents in Ocean Beach are tired of noise from a vacation rental they call a "party house" and a “hell house.”

Neighbors say the home at Del Monte Avenue and Ocean Front Street is causing chaos.

It is advertised as a "three levels sitting on the edge of the ocean. It “boasts one of the largest ocean front backyards in all of San Diego — 65 feet wide and 30 feet to the house, large enough to seat many people comfortably."

Neighbor Delinda Lombardo recorded cell phone video of a party bus taking people to and from the house.

"It was like a rave," Lombardo said.

Lombardo says she has seen dozens of people stay at once, throwing huge parties, getting drunk and hanging off balconies.

"If we walk by and we say, 'Hey can you guys keep it down?' We get the finger," she said.

"They'll get 10 or 12 people out there, if you can believe that, at night. I'm talking two or three in the morning," Lombardo’s landlord Ed Nover added.

The city of San Diego gave the property owners a Civil Penalty Notice and Order, citing them for three violations. According to the document, they "are violating the law by renting the dwelling unit for a period of less than seven consecutive calendar days."

The owners have until July 1 to change their minimum night stay advertised on their VRBO and start only allowing guests that will stay for seven consecutive nights.

10News was not able to reach the owners for comment.

Lombardo hopes they cooperate and help bring peace back to their neighborhood.

"Look where we live," Lombardo said. "It’s the most beautiful place in the world. Our quality of life has gone down because of this.”
