A delivery driver for a marijuana dispensary was robbed at gunpoint in Sherman Heights, according to police.

The robbery at 2214 Market St. happened shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, as the driver was attempting to deliver the marijuana but got no response to the doorbell, according to San Diego Police Sgt. Michael Tansey.

Just as the delivery driver was about to call the customer, the suspect showed up, pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the victim's face, demanded the marijuana, then fled on foot, Tansey said.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, white shorts and tall white socks. He was last seen heading north on 22nd Street, Tansey said.
