Let’s be honest: We’ve all fantasized about being a Disney Princess at some point in our lives. Whether you consider yourself a Tiana, a Belle or a Jasmine, we can all relate to the intelligence, determination and beauty of our favorite princesses.
And now, thanks to a collaboration between Disney and indie fragrance company DefineMe, you can now smell like your favorite Disney Princess!
The company has just released their first official Disney fragrance and, fittingly (as it is the 30th anniversary of “The Little Mermaid”), the first perfume is none other than Ariel.
The new scent will be released at BeautyCon in Los Angeles this weekend, and you will soon be able to find the Ariel perfume at Ulta, select Disney stores, ShopDisney.com and DefineMeFragrance.com. You can also preorder a bottle right now. A 5 mL bottle of Ariel has a suggested retail price of $88, and the 9 mL travel fragrance is $28.
“We were beyond thrilled to collaborate with Disney this past year,” said CEO and Creative Director of DefineMe, Jennifer McKay-Newton, in a recent press release. “Having grown up with and loving all things Disney, the opportunity to create something so special such as a fragrance inspired by their Disney Princess characters is truly exciting for not only our brand, but me personally.”
So what does Ariel smell like? As is apropos of a fragrance inspired by a mermaid, it’s a beachy scent with island vibes, including notes of coconut and driftwood. It has a fresh, citrusy base that speaks to Ariel’s wanderlust and curious nature, with hints of citrusy neroli and bergamot, as well as floral notes of jasmine and lilac. It is a fresh, friendly scent that will suit women of all ages, whether you’re headed into the office or enjoying a date night.
This is just the first of several fragrances in the new DefineMe/Disney fragrance line, so keep your eyes peeled to see which Princess gets chosen next.
Which is your favorite Disney movie, and which princess did you always dream you could be?
