The San Diego Padres will conduct U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard Appreciation Day at Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park, part of the team's season long Military Sunday salutes.
The pregame ceremony will include a flyover by a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster transport plane.
The ceremony will also include Air Force and Air National Guard service members lining the bases and nine U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard representatives taking the field with the Padres starters.
Staff Sgt. Dejon Fruga will perform the national anthem. Lt. Jeffrey Collins will sing "God Bless America" between halves of the seventh inning.
Senior Master Sgt. Javier Murillo from March Air Reserve Base will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
The Padres will wear their new Navy digital camouflage uniforms.
Two Padres players will sign autographs from noon-12:30 p.m. at the park. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate.
Membership is free and children can register online or in-person Sunday.
The Padres will also conduct a Kids Fest at the Park at the Park beginning at 11 a.m., which will include bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and other children-friendly activities.
