The San Diego Chargers will open the 2016 NFL regular season on the road at Kansas City against the AFC West rival Chiefs on Sept. 11.
The Chargers' first home game will be against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 18, and two weeks later, former Chargers QB Drew Brees and the Saints will play at Qualcomm Stadium on Oct. 2.
The defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos will visit San Diego for a Thursday night tilt on Oct. 13. The Chargers will also play the team Denver beat in Super Bowl 50, the Carolina Panthers, on Dec. 11.
The Chargers will ring in the New Year and end their home schedule on Jan. 1 against the Chiefs.
