SAN DIEGO -- Another San Diego Chargers player is out for the season due to an injury -- this time it's the team's cornerback Jason Verrett.

Verrett was suffering from knee pain on Tuesday and an evaluation found that he had a partially torn ACL, according to the Chargers. Doctors said he will need surgery and the decision was made to have him sit out the rest of the season.

"The feeling I had in my knee, I knew something wasn't right," Verrett said, as quoted in an online article by the Chargers. "But I have the mindset of being out there. Then getting the results, it was crushing. It was tough.  But I knew something wasn't right."

Wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Danny Woodhead also suffered torn ACLs and are out for the year. Linebacker Manti Te'o injured his Achilles and was placed on season-ending injured reserve last week.
