While Halloween may look a bit different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, there’s one thing you can count on: Candy. And lots of it.

With the CDC recommending children not partake in traditional trick-or-treating, you may find your household’s Halloween candy stash diminished this year. Luckily, Sonic Drive-In has a new treat that sounds like the perfect replacement for any candy you don’t get this Halloween season.

Sonic’s new Trick or Treat Blasts are frozen desserts blended with M&M’s Minis, Snickers bar pieces and Oreo cookie pieces, so you don’t have to choose a favorite treat. You’ll find the Blasts available in vanilla or chocolate now through Nov. 1, so you can enjoy some trick-or-treating all October.

If you do find yourself with some leftover Halloween candy or want to enjoy your favorites leading up to Halloween, there are plenty of desserts you can make yourself, like this Hershey bar cake that uses several different kinds of candy.

If you’re a candy corn fan, you can try your hand at making this candy corn surprise cake, or if chocolate is more your style, go for these M&M’s explosion pumpkin cookies.

Even if you’ll be skipping traditional trick-or-treating this year, your kids can still get in on the fun with a new app from Mars Wrigley that will allow them to trick-or-treat virtually — for real candy!

Launching Oct. 1, the Treat Town app allows Halloween fans of all ages to create personalized spooky avatars, customized Halloween decorations for the in-app door, and most importantly, the ability to “knock” on the doors of friends and family across the country.

Participants will earn candy credits in the app, which can be redeemed for real Mars Wrigley products online or in stores nationwide.
