SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Mission Hills High School senior Kayla Tracy fell in love with field hockey and lacrosse. In fact, she's captained both teams during her four years at Mission Hills. She was apart of the field hockey team since her freshman year, and she's played lacrosse going back to her middle school days. Kayla says her participation in both sports has a lot to do with her friends.

"I was drawn to lacrosse by a couple of my friends who played on the middle school team. In high school I fell in love with field hockey. I wanted to play another sport in high school, so I went and tried out my freshman year. I made so many friends and memories, and it was a great experience."

For this senior at Mission Hills, getting involved in sports has been a life changer.

"Being apart of sports at Mission Hills has allowed me to make memories that I will never forget. I made so many amazing friendships and my coaches were super supportive. They pushed our team to be the best they could."

Of course the COVID-19 pandemic has put an end to spring sports. But it has raised and interesting question. What kind of season could have it been for Kayla and the rest of the Grizzlies lacrosse team this year?

"I was really disappointed that our season came to an end so quickly. I was really looking forward to it, and we were really bonding as a team, which showed on the field with our 4 and 0 record. We were looking forward to playoffs because we really believed that we could make it all the way. I realized how lucky I was to play the past three years , and how much I'm going to miss it."
