'Polar vortex ' impacts San Diego International flights

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) Dangerously cold weather in the Midwest is affecting flights to and from San Diego International Airport.

Lindbergh Field experience a handful of cancellations and flight delays from the polar vortex bearing down on the middle of the country.

More than 1,100 flights have been cancelled in Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway airports causing headaches for carriers that use that region as a hub.

Some airlines are telling customers they may not be able to get flight to a through the Midwest until Friday.

Major airlines are offering vouchers for customers who are affected.

San Diego International suggests travelers check their flight status before heading the airport.
