SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Olympian High School senior Jonathan Hicks is a four sport athlete for the Eagles.

And this year he was running quite well for the track team.

"I became interested in track my junior year. The events i competed in were the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles."

Although he didn't start running track until the eleventh grade, his personal best time of 43.13 in the 300 meter hurdles was the top mark for Olympian this year.

"Everybody pushed me to become better. They really taught me a lot of things like hurdles techniques, and what speeds I need to be running, and it really helped me a lot."

Unfortunately, the track season ended just after it started due to coronavirus. And for Jonathan, it put a halt to his long term plans on the track.

"Due to the coronavirus, my season was sadly cut short. I had a lot of plans of improving on my speed, and my strength. I really wanted to get a better time and sadly I couldn't do that."
