SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Three construction workers taken to the hospital after in an incident at the San Diego Zoo Thursday are expected to recover from their injuries.
On Thursday, emergency crews received a report at about 10:30 a.m. regarding three construction workers contracted to do work at the zoo that were injured on the property, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Media Manager Monica Munoz told 10News.
Two of the workers were taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, while the other was transported to UC San Diego Medical Center.
Zoo officials told 10News the workers from R&S Sletton construction company are OK.
The workers were working in a construction zone away from zoo visitors when the incident occurred. 10News received a report that the incident involved a hose, but no other information was disclosed.
The zoo has construction underway on its new Africa Rocks exhibit, which is set to open this weekend for Fourth of July visitors.
