A 32-year-old woman was killed when she got out of her car in the dark on a Mission Bay street and was struck by a car, authorities said Monday.
The crash happened in the 4300 block of Mission Bay Drive at 9:14 p.m. Sunday, Officer Ben Newton of the San Diego Police Department.
A 67-year-old man was driving a 2015 Kia Optima southbound in the 4300 block of Mission Bay Drive.
"A 32-year-old female was also southbound. For an unknown reason it looks like she stopped her car and got out of it and was struck by the Kia," Newton said.
The Kia driver stopped at the scene after the crash, Newton said.
