SAN DIEGO – A 26-year-old woman fought off a man who tried to grab her while she was walking in City Heights Friday morning, according to San Diego police.
At around 2:45 a.m., a woman was walking in the 4400 block of El Cajon Boulevard, near Hoover High School, when a pickup truck pulled up. Police report a man got out, grabbed the woman and tried to pull her into his vehicle. The woman reportedly placed her house keys between her fingers, punched the suspect in the face. During a struggle, the man ripped the women’s shirt, but she was finally able to break free.
The woman ran to a relative’s house about four blocks away to call 911. The suspect fled in the truck.
Police responded but were unable to locate the suspect. He was described as Hispanic, in his 30s and with short hair. He was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt with a hood over his head. The vehicle was described as an older burgundy Toyota Tundra with a camper shell.
The victim was not seriously hurt. Police are investigating.
