SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver who crashed into an exit sign and rolled over on southbound Interstate 5 Monday morning was found by her sister.

The crash happened at around 3 a.m. on the southbound I-5 ramp to state Route 905, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but 10News learned the Mercedes SUV flipped multiple times before coming to rest on its side.

The driver’s sister, who happens to live in the area, said she heard the crash and spotted a cloud of smoke.

She told 10News she had a feeling her sister was somehow involved.

“This always happens; it’s not the first time we’ve had a crash here. This time, it just happened to be her,” the woman said.

The driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
