SAN DIEGO -- Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Bankers Hill. The investigation is centered at the Big Sister League, a non-profit organization that serves women, located at 115 Redwood Street.

The San Diego Fire Department was dispatched to the scene around 3:14 p.m., where the reporting party told them they had been having a conversation with one of the victims through a locked door, when they heard a loud bang from inside the room.

Fire personnel entered the building through an outside window to the room and saw a man and woman who were unresponsive.  Fire personnel then requested the assistance of the San Diego Police Department.

At an afternoon news conference, police said that the the woman works at the non-profit and she and her boyfriend were found dead. Witnesses say they heard three gunshots, then one. According to police the man killed his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.

"I'm hurt, I'm scared, I'm confused." Banks said. "I...you know. And agan I just don't, I don't really know what's going on there."

Banks said despite loving her brother, she had warned her friend to protect herself from him.
