SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A head-on collision on a street in 4S Ranch left one woman dead and a suspected drunken driver hospitalized, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The suspected drunk driver was a 34-year-old woman in a Toyota Sienna minivan. She was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road on Camino Del Norte, just east of Camino San Bernardo, at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday,
according to the CHP.
That's when she hit a westbound Toyota Corolla, killing the other driver, the CHP said.
The suspected drunken driver was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with major injuries. There, she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving causing injury, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The names of the suspect and victim were not released by the CHP, and there were no other injuries.
