SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - A woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly ran down her boyfriend in the parking lot of a Spring Valley restaurant.

Authorities said they received a report just after 12:15 a.m. of an altercation at the IHOP restaurant in the 8700 block of Broadway.

According to witnesses, a couple was seen arguing inside an SUV parked outside the restaurant. After the man walked out of the vehicle, witnesses said the woman stepped on the gas and drove directly at her boyfriend.

Witnesses said the SUV struck the man -- sending him flying into the air -- and then slammed into a retaining wall at a nearby Wendy's restaurant.

After the man was hit, the woman got out of the SUV and ran away. Witnesses said she was barefoot and bleeding from her head.

The man told bystanders he was OK and asked that authorities not be called. He then walked away barefoot.

Witnesses told responding deputies what happened, and the man was eventually found hiding nearby. He did not appear to be seriously injured.

The woman walked back to the scene, was questioned and then arrested.

10News learned she might face charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
