SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A pedestrian seen running on Interstate 8 in Mission Valley Thursday morning set off a wild scene that saw a car slam into the back of a stalled pickup truck.
An Uber driver told 10News he was entering westbound I-8 from Mission Center Road at about 1 a.m. when a man suddenly ran in front of his car, causing him to veer out of the way. Once the driver reached the freeway lanes, his car was hit from behind by a pickup truck.
The truck was left disabled in the middle lane, and the 10News Breaking News Tracker captured several vehicles swerve around it and the debris on the roadway.
However, a small white car was unable to avoid the truck and plowed into it before spinning out to the shoulder of the freeway.
10News learned authorities are looking into the possibility the driver of the white car was under the influence.
No injuries were immediately reported in this incident.
