SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Country music star Jason Aldean, who was on stage at a music festival in Las Vegas when a gunman opened fire, is scheduled to perform in Chula Vista this weekend.

Aldean is scheduled to make three Southern California stops this weekend as part of his "They Don't Know" tour:

-- Oct. 6 at The Forum in Los Angeles
-- Oct. 7 at the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista
-- Oct. 8 at the Honda Center in Anaheim

There is no immediate word if the shows will continue as scheduled.

Aldean was on stage at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival when authorities said a gunman opened fire from a room at the Mandalay Bay Resort.

Aldean posted on Instagram: "Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don't know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that me and my crew are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night."

The gunfire left at least 50 people dead and injured more than 400 people, local authorities said.

Local authorities confirmed the suspected gunman Stephen Paddock was found dead when officers entered the room on the 32nd floor.
