CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV)--Police were searching for a burglar who entered a home being tented for termites wearing a full white suit and respirator Thursday.

The homeowner arrived at his home in the 6300 block of Paseo Aspada near Carillo Way around 6:00 a.m. this morning after a camera system he had installed alerted him to an intruder.

The last sighting of the intruder was at 5:50 a.m. and police say the burglar may have been in the home for up to 40 minutes.

Surveillance video shows the intruder's face and he or she can be seen rifling through the homeowner's dresser.

Ken Munson told 10News, "He looked like he was real prepared. He had long clothing that sealed his body, jacket, head gear."

Christi Munson added, “It appears he went through every single drawer and pulled out everything and was very meticulous in how he searched the house.”

By the time personnel from the pest-control company deemed the residence to re-enter, the intruder was gone, Lt. Kevin Lehan said.

Police are continuing to investigate at the scene.

If you have information on the intruder, contact police at 760-931-2115.
