ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) -- An expectant mother has a warning for other women at a popular park: someone may be watching you
More than a week ago Alana Lockhart - who is six months pregnant - was with her husband and their dog on a walk at Encinitas Community Park. They were away from the car for an hour-and-a-half, before returning to their RAV4.
"When I entered the car, I noticed the front passenger window shattered all over the front seat," said Lockhart.
There was shattered glass along with a missing purse, which Lockhart had partially stuffed under a front seat.
"That's when the crying started," Lockhart said. " It was really unnerving."
The thief went on a shopping spree to the tune of $1200, before tossing the purse along a highway in Escondido.
She's not alone.
Since January, deputies report four other car break-ins at the park.
