An 8-year-old boy lost his mom last week when a tree fell on her car during a storm in Ohio, but it turns out that was the second parent he lost in his young life.
News 5 in Cleveland reported the boy's father, who was in the armed forces, died in 2010.
According to News 5's media partners at the Akron Beacon Journal, Devon Cook, of Medina, Ohio, was killed last Friday when a tree fell on her SUV as she was driving on River Styx Road.
The 8-year-old boy's half sister, just one-year-old, was in the back seat but she was unharmed.
According to Cook's obituary, the 28-year-old "enjoyed crafting, boating and travel and, above all else, loved spending time with her family. She was an awesome mother, loving daughter, caring sister, devoted granddaughter and a loyal and true friend to everyone whose life she touched."
