SAN DIEGO -- Police were investigating the fatal shooting of a 53-year-old man in Mount Hope Friday.
San Diego police received a call about a shooting at 8:37 p.m. Friday in the 3900 block of B Street, according to Lt. Ray Valentin.
The responding officer found the victim non-responsive along the north side of the street, suffering trauma to his upper body, Valentin said.
Police performed life-saving measures until fire personnel arrived on scene and transported the man to a hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The man was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Valentin said.
The victim, who is a San Diego resident, has been identified but his information is not being released until family members have been notified, Valentin said.
