SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A truck carrying swimming pool supplies crashed on northbound state Route 125 Wednesday morning, spilling chemicals onto the roadway and prompting authorities to shut down multiple lanes for cleanup.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred just before 7:15 a.m. on the northbound side of SR-125 near Grossmont College Drive.
The type of chemical that spilled was not immediately known.
Due to the chemical spill and hazardous materials team response, authorities closed multiple lanes and issued a Sig Alert.
By 9:15 a.m., authorities reopened all lanes after declaring the roadway safe.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
