(KGTV) - An East County woman has a warning for online shoppers after somebody hacked her family’s Amazon account.

Late last week, Janet Ferrari and her husband got an email from Amazon informing them of two suspicious charges: a $100 gift card purchase on Thursday and a $200 Samsung purchase the next day.  Both were sent to addresses Amazon did not disclose to the couple.

“They said it could be a keystroke virus or some other malware,” said Ferrari.

So far, one of two purchases has been refunded.

Ferrari says she now plans on changing her passwords more frequently.  While she’s not sure how she was hacked, she does offer up one piece of advice.

“I also want to warn people not to save your password on your browser,” said Ferrari.
