An Ocean Beach woman says a thief stole their treasured truck from Sunset Cliffs Automotive.

Fran Damron, works at the shop. He says the thief had been in the shop earlier in the day, after his own car was towed in.

"But he asked me to leave the car unlocked so he could come back and get stuff out of it."  Damron said.

This surveillance video shows him coming back at night -- breaking into the pickup -- loading his stuff up -- and then driving away.

The owner says he hot wired her 1960 Ford F-100 pickup.

"You feel violated watching your property get stolen. It's gut-wrenching." she said. "She was beautiful. I hope she still is, I hope to see her again."

What was left behind in the thief's car was the odd part. Frank says police found a trunk full of Marijuana and a gun in the car.

"I don't know why he loaded everything else but the weed in the trunk," Damron said. "but the car was just littered with that. In the container of weed was a little pistol."

Now, Damron is hoping his surveillance video will help reunite his friend with the prized pickup.

"Weird as hell, never expected what we saw on the video," Damron said.
