LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - Employees at an aquarium store in La Mesa are hoping surveillance video will track down a thief who made a mad grab for cash.
On Friday just after 11 a.m., sales associate Jose Lopez says a man walked into Fountains Aquarium, asked if they sold sharks and then started wandering around the store.
Surveillance video shows after the store owner stepped into her office for a call, the man made his move. He bent down on his knees under the cash register and opened it, before making off with hundreds of dollars.
Lopez tells us not far away, another fish store was hit about a week before.
“It’s infuriating. Just the fact he’s picking on these local small businesses, he needs to be caught,” said Lopez.
If you have any information on the case call La Mesa Police at 619-667-1400.
