SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Burglars have been targeting homes being tented for pest control in the Birdland area of San Diego.

Three or four victims have been reported in just the past few days.

One woman returned to find every room ransacked; the thieves taking a large-screen tv, a computer, and more.

"I'm very frightened, a little angry, and yes, I'm sad because I lost my wedding ring and very nice jewelry."

No arrests yet.

Neighbors have begun stepping up security measures.

Claudia Haines told 10News, "I put in a security door, screen door. I can see out; they can't necessarily see me and that helps because I've had people come to my door, trying to open the door, see if it's unlocked.  I’m standing there, saying, ‘What do you want/” and it’s enough to scare them and they run away."
