VISTA, Calif. - A Temecula woman was behind bars in San Diego County Thursday on suspicion of embezzling more than $500,000 from her Escondido employer.

Detectives arrested Sheila Jo Jackson, 46, at her home on Wednesday, according to Escondido police.

Jackson allegedly stole the funds from the coffers of Betz Concrete Inc. while working for the West Fourth Avenue company over a period of several years, Lt. Ed Varso said.

Jackson was booked into county jail in Vista on suspicion of embezzlement, forgery, grand theft and identity theft. She was being held on $1.1 million bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
